As you may be aware, we recently reached the point where we were no longer able to continue The Grannie Annie.
The Grannie Annie’s twenty published collections of historical family stories (including 571 stories written by young people) and related resources have been passed on to the Missouri Historical Society Library & Research Center for further sharing through the library and associated museums.
PDFs of all twenty published collections, the topical index of Grannie Annie stories, a comprehensive family-story-writing resource, and archived copies of The Grannie Annie’s website will continue to be available digitally through Internet Archive, a nonprofit website and free resource. To find these PDF books and resources, go to https://archive.org, put “The Grannie Annie Family Story Celebration” in the larger Search window, click on “Search metadata,” and then click “GO." To see archives of The Grannie Annie’s website, put “thegrannieannie.org” in the Search window and click on “Search archived web sites.”
This website will continue to exist through December 2025.
We sincerely thank you all for your support of The Grannie Annie over the past twenty years. It has been a joy!

About The Grannie Annie Mission
The mission of The Grannie Annie is to inspire young people to discover, write, and share stories from their family's history, and to publish collections of their work.
Through its annual publications and additional related activities, The Grannie Annie encourages young people around the world to interview family members to discover stories from their family’s history. When the stories are brought to life in written form, they can be shared with others and preserved for future generations.
There's even more: Behind each family story lie experiences familiar to people in different centuries and on different continents. These simple, and very personal, family stories can help writers and readers to forge a bond with people whose lives may seem very different from their own — and move the world one step closer to peace.
We invite you to join us in this mission! If you would like to donate some of your time and talent toward supporting The Grannie Annie, please e-mail us. Your financial support is also appreciated. You can donate online or by mail. Donations are tax-deductible.
